Energy. Energy keeps us going. It’s the fuel of the mind, the body and soul. It keeps our heart strong and it keeps our smiles on. One who gives energy, must gain. One who only gives will crumble. You can’t lift a spirit up without feeling that same amount of energy flowing through yourself. Keep that energy flowing, ‘cause energy keep things growing.

A while ago I had a discussion with friends, while playing a card game called “The Life Game”… The question was “When is cheating cheating and would you forgive your partner?” Because of the question we ended in a discussion… And how beautiful, we all came with the same conclusion (men and women): “Cheating isn’t necessarily something physical. When your partner is giving someone else the devoted attention to another man or woman. Most of the time these are the first steps and lead to more. It always starts with something emotional en ends up with the physical…”. Good to know that both sexes think about this the same way…

Whether you’re in a relationship, dating or single - with a list of demands and expectations… I think these are the basic ingredients a partner must have or can live by to be a good honey, babe, cutee, hubby, boo or what so ever.

- be open and honest
- be faithful
- show your feelings
- be a good listener
- be talkative
- feel a constant drive to make the one you’re with happy and give him/her the feeling he/she matters

On both sides, man or woman, the feeling must be good. The feeling of trust and companionship… forming a team. A safe haven, a feeling of coming “home” every time you see this person. A person you can be yourself with, with all your flaws and imperfections. ‘Cause when the basics are right and the characteristics of the person match yours and you’re accepting the flaws and imperfections. You’re creating something beautiful. A connection that is unbreakable…

Fussin’ and fightin’, trippin’ and trying… all because I think you’re worth every word. Just wanna make that effort and gain that same amount. ‘Cause I think you deserve the loving, respect and attention as I do also. Never thought that loving you would hurt. Knowing that stubbornness it is that burns.

I expect the respect, love and care I deserve… That is the same amount I give you… If you’re not giving me the amount that I deserve. I will stay for a while, but will fly away eventually…

The second of September… is always a special day for me, my parents and I call it “airplane-day”. The day I got life most beautiful gift, a loving family.

Twenty-nine years ago I made a 24 hour trip from Seoul, South-Korea to the Netherlands. In a big KLM airplane I was on my way to meet the two most loving parents a tiny little baby can wish for. Born on May 23, brought to an orphanage on May 26 in 1983 with a whole life ahead for me… a better life. That’s why I am more than grateful that I am where I am today.

Mom and dad, I love you and thank you for all that you have given me in the past 29 years. A loving home, a beautiful childhood and all the strength I have today by all the lessons life has learned me and every time you two were there to catch me when I was falling. I am more than grateful for you two as my parents… Love you! X
